In Focus | The Summer Co-ord Edit

There is something quietly brilliant about a well-matched set. You open your wardrobe, reach for two pieces, and the decision is already made. No deliberating, no second-guessing, just an effortlessly pulled-together look that feels considered without any of the effort.

The co-ord (short for coordinate) has a longer history than most people realise. Its  modern chapter began in the 1920s when Coco Chanel made her cardigan jacket and skirt using jersey fabric. Later, in the 1960s, Mary Quant and Pierre Cardin experimented with coordinated skirts and trousers using colour-blocking and graphic patterns. Today, the co-ord has been fully reclaimed, not as a fashion moment, but as a wardrobe staple: relaxed, refined, and endlessly versatile.

At JAM, our co-ords are built around linen, and that's not an accident.

Linen is one of the world's most ancient fabrics. What makes it so enduringly relevant for summer dressing is simple: it has natural moisture and heat-wicking properties, able to draw both heat and moisture away from the body, and is incredibly fast drying. It breathes, it drapes beautifully, and it softens with wear.

This season, we're introducing two new linen sets, each with a distinct personality.

The Milos Shirt and Milos Shorts in Terracotta Red are our most-anticipated launch of the summer. Cut in 100% linen in a warm, sun-baked terracotta- a shade that looks as good against a Greek island backdrop as it does at a rooftop bar in London- the Milos set is built around our signature Penny shirt shape with rear buttons, double cuff, and classic collar. Wear them together for maximum impact, or split the pieces across different outfits throughout your trip. The Milos also comes in a beautiful blue colourway — the Milos Shirt and Milos Shorts in blue offer a cooler, more coastal feel for those who prefer their summer palette a little quieter. Both sets are true to size and machine washable at 30°C. They pack light, they travel well and form an instant outfit.

For those who want something a little more structured, the Byron Jacket in 100% Linen and the Byron Trouser in 100% Linen offer something closer to resort-luxe. The Byron set is designed to bridge the gap between dressed-up and dressed-down. The trousers feature a drawcord waist, a straight cut that flatters all shapes, and a longer length that can be easily tailored. Wear the set together for a look that could take you from a gallery opening to a garden lunch, or pair the jacket over a dress or the trousers with a guernsey for something altogether more individual.

As with everything we make at JAM, all of these sets are produced in limited quantities. Once they're gone, they're gone! And that's very much by design. It's part of our commitment to making less, making it well, and ensuring that nothing we create ends up as waste.

Summer dressing, at its best, should be simple. A great co-ord makes it exactly that.
