The Madness of May!
May was a very busy month, not just for us but for most of Britain! Travel restrictions eased, indoor dining returned, and Mark turned 30! It’s very rare for Mark to stop, but on this occasion, a festival of celebrations prevailed and he was forced to, by all of us! The Jordan’s kicked off the celebrations with their beautiful partners and a tour of the Tarquin’s gin distillery, which neither of them remember but both are convinced was excellent, followed by a good old fashion bonfire on the beach with friends! A last minute recovery lunch at Prawn on the Farm (Thanks Rick and Katie Toogood) sealed the deal making it a weekend to remember. Mark needed a day or two to recover but I think Andrew might need a month at a yoga retreat before he’s normal again!
Somehow, between dancing round fires and tasting Gin we have managed to achieve a lot in the past 31 days, with a crazy end to May; the month that gives us not just one but two bank holidays! What started off as the coldest May in memory, ended the hottest. It’s hard to recollect that before the 17th of May we were all huddled in the pub garden , eating rain drenched steak and chips (the one’s that didn’t blow away or freeze to our finger tips!) The British public were dinning OUT and no element was going to hold them back. 10/10 for commitment guys. Special thanks go to those who fought their way through the storms and made it to our stores making it a record May for the Jam family. Thankyou! Hopefully from now on everyone’s legs can be out and thankfully, our swim shorts are in! This summer we launch our new line of luxury cotton seersucker swim shorts, coming soon to an insta screen near you!
It was a fairly mega month for product drops at Jam… the new Deia Collection came in (and is now nearly out), new sweats arrived, new swim shorts and most importantly our signature lobster print shirts returned (with a new look). My personal fave has been the Deia Collection, along with a lot of visitors, whom arrived in raincoats and left in linens! We are particularly excited about our summer collection of shirts, mainly because it signals party in the sun time. It’s our fave time at Jam; THE SILLY SEASON. Seriously though, if you want that lobster shirt you better get it now, they’re going faster than the lobsters on the menu at the Pig hotel!
Finally, we want to say a big welcome and introduce you to the latest member of the team - the ever so lovely, Lucy! Lucy is interning with us this Summer and has been thrown in the deep end running our latest store at 147 Kings Road in London. Lucy has just graduated from Exeter and has been shopping with us in Padstow every time she enters the Wild West (which is often). She’s going to really miss swimming in the ocean before lectures but is quickly adapting her morning routine to a run round Battersea Park, and we will soon tempt her into a membership at the Serpentine for some cold water therapy. Andrew asked her the other day if she wanted a drink on his way into the Kings road and she promptly replied “Are we talking Prosecco or PG tips?” Confirming she is without doubt, family already.
Keep in touch with us via instagram DM’s and please let me know if theres anything JAM related you want to hear more about?!
Until next week, I’m out of office.
