Twenty-Twenty-Two: The Year of Making Waves

Habitually, the start of a new year is all about new beginnings, embracing change and setting goals for the months ahead. And it’s no different for us here at Jam. After a fair run of variants, vaccinations and failed vacations … it’s safe to say that we are ready for a fresh start. And, after a blissful month off with many of us taking the opportunity to explore sunnier corners of the world, we are all stoked to be back in our stores, ready and raring to go for a very exciting year ahead.

So, what did the month of February bring for us? Between dodging the damp, shop refurbishments and squeezing in a surf or two (or three?) February has also been a month full of exciting product releases. First and foremost, we welcome the latest additions to our ever-growing knit collection; The Harri, The Charcoal J Fin 1/4 Zip and an Indigo variant of our timeless Hector knit. And, for the imminent warmer days that lie ahead of us, we have also released a selection of unisex graphic tees; the Good Life T, Anchor T and our Long-sleeve Mantra T which has been lovingly designed by our very own Busy Izzy! And, of course, we welcome our annual restock of our eternally popular Rockaway Fleeces.

A HUGE thank you to both Andrew and Mark who both made a copious amount of car journeys between London and Cornwall to ensure we were all nicely stocked up after our time out of office … according to Andrew, Gordano is his favoured choice of service station for a black coffee and stretch of the legs.

Aside from a series of nationwide extratropical weather conditions, February has also been a time for us to come together as a team and focus on setting goals for the coming months and what we can being doing to achieve them. From creative collaborations and social milestones to activation and fundraising events, it’s safe to say 2022 is the year we make some waves.

One notable milestone of ours is of course our charity pledge to The Wave Project, an organisation that is close to both team and families hearts. Towards the end of last year, we set ourselves a target to raise £10,000 to donate to help continue the remarkable work that the The Wave Project have and continue to do. And with thanks to your generosity already, we have already raised over 10% of our goal … but we need to keep going! With this in mind, we are planning to host a series of exciting events throughout the year; from a sponsored walk and charity car wash to social giveaways and raffles. Oh … and a little birdie told me that Mark and Izzy may be running a marathon?! We strongly suggest you keep your eyes and ears peeled …

Amongst all this excitement; we will as ever also be attending the Chelsea Flower Show in May and will be hosting a celebratory drinks party at our Kings Road store. More information on these events will be released over the coming months across our site and socials. Oh, and if that’s not exciting enough … we have also curated a brand new Jam playlist over on Spotify, for all to enjoy wherever they may be in the world.

Last but by no means least, I would like to take a moment to introduce two of our newest members to the Jam Family … Amy and Grace! You’ll find Amy in our St Ives store … most likely having just been for her daily morning dip. Amy is originally from Penzance but has spent some time living up in London before realising she missed the coastline a bit too much. On the rare occasion you find Amy back on land, her favourite things to do are long walks along the beach followed by a drink at the pub before dancing the night away at a local gig!

And, you’ll find Grace (that’s me!) at our newest store in Falmouth. Grace recently graduated from Falmouth University with a degree in Television but has since developed a real passion for all things social media and now helps Andrew over on the Jam Instagram account. When she’s not scouting out new content, watching reruns of Bake Off or drinking an overpriced coconut milk latte; Grace loves to take weekend trips to the beach with her fiancé in their VW camper named Sadie. That, and planning her September 2022 Wedding … eeek!

So, I think it’s more than safe to say that some very exciting times lie ahead for all of us here at Jam this year!

As ever, you can keep up to date with what we’re up over on our Instagram page.
